Bao’an Stadium : Spectacular Bamboo Stadium Design Inspired by GMP Architekten Posted: 20 Aug 2011 08:41 AM PDT Bao'an Stadium : Modern and Spectacular Architect of Bamboo Stadium Design designed by German Studio GMP Architekten colloborate with the SCUT South China University of Technology for The Sports Bureau of Bao'an District as the Client. This spectacular stadium located Shenzhen and hosted the World University Games 2011. This stadium inspired by the bamboo forest which life in Southern China. The bamboo look serves two purposes. It reflects the character of the region, and thus creates identity. And it serves as a structural concept for both the load-bearing frame of the stadium stands and the supports for the wide-span roof structure. The outermost part of the stadium unites façade, structure and overarching architectural theme in a single feature. The natural look of the bamboo forest, together with the interplay of light and shadow between the trunks, is interpreted structurally. The dimension of this Stadium : lenght : 245.80 m, width 245.80 m and height 39.65 m with 40.050 seat. The construction did in 2009–201. (source) |
